Amsterdam, Orchestrated

From canal-house weddings to international congresses and private journeys through the Dutch light — one city, entirely at your command.

One City, Entirely Yours

Few cities reward discretion like Amsterdam. Behind the seventeenth-century façades of the Grachtengordel lie ballrooms, ateliers and private salons that never appear on a map — and beyond the canals, a country of tulip fields, windmills and castle estates waiting to be entered privately.

We open all of it: for a wedding of forty, a congress of four thousand, a board’s executive retreat, or a single family’s journey through the Dutch Golden Age. One team, one standard, absolute discretion.

Programmes for Business Groups

For companies bringing groups to Amsterdam — from a leadership team of twelve to a sales force of six hundred — we build complete programmes under one accountable team, one budget and one point of contact. The framework below is a starting point; every element is tailored, and pricing is confirmed on proposal.

Sustainable Events

Sustainable Events & Responsible Programmes

The Netherlands is one of the most naturally sustainable stages in Europe, and we build your programme to make the most of it. We select venues with genuine green credentials — energy-efficient historic buildings and modern carbon-conscious estates alike — move your group by bicycle, electric canal boat and EV fleet rather than idling coaches, and set tables sourced from Dutch farms with seasonal menus and low-waste catering. Every element can be measured and, where you wish, the full footprint of the event calculated and offset, so your programme stands up to any board or stakeholder review.

Sustainability with us is also an experience, not only a policy. We design responsible team programmes with real social and environmental impact — conservation mornings in the polder landscape, community projects and canal clean-ups, and partnerships with Dutch charitable foundations — each delivered to the same standard as a gala evening, and each returned to you with a clear report of what your group achieved. Purpose and prestige, in the same programme.

Tell us the group, the objective and the dates. We return a complete proposal within five working days.

Tourism & Private Journeys

The Netherlands, Privately

Beyond the boardroom and the ballroom lies the country itself. We design private journeys through Amsterdam and the Dutch landscape — by boat, by car, by helicopter — each one exclusive, unhurried and entirely yours. Every journey below is chauffeured, privately guided and shaped around you.

The Classic

Private City & Golden Age Tour

Amsterdam without a single queue or crowd — the city seen properly. A private historian walks you through the Grachtengordel and the Golden Age, opening the merchant houses, the hidden hofjes and the courtyards that ordinary visitors pass without ever knowing. We pace the day to you, not to a timetable, weaving the great landmarks together with the quiet corners that make Amsterdam feel like a confidence shared rather than a sight ticked off.

Art After Dark

Van Gogh — Private After-Hours Tour

Stand before the Sunflowers and the self-portraits when the galleries are silent and the museum is, for an hour, yours alone. Guided by an art specialist rather than a crowd, you follow Vincent’s life from the dark Dutch years to the blaze of Arles and the final months, with the space and stillness such work demands. It is the Van Gogh Museum as almost no one experiences it — intimate, unhurried and unforgettable.

The Golden Age

Rembrandt & the Masters Tour

Trace Rembrandt through the city that made him: a private viewing of The Night Watch and the Rijksmuseum’s Golden-Age halls, then the Rembrandt House Museum, where he lived, taught and etched, its rooms restored to his own inventory. Our art historians bring the light, the scandal and the genius of the seventeenth century vividly to life — a masterclass in Dutch painting delivered entirely for you.

The Grand Journey

The Grand Holland Tour

The definitive private tour of the Netherlands, composed over several days. Amsterdam’s canals; The Hague and its Mauritshuis; the blue-and-white ateliers of Delft; the windmills of Kinderdijk; the tulip country in season; and the North Sea coast — all threaded together by private chauffeur and expert guide, with the finest hotels and tables secured along the way. One seamless, beautifully paced journey through the whole of Holland’s story.

On the Water

Private Canals & Boats

Amsterdam is best understood from the water, and we give you the water on your terms. Step aboard your own classic teak salon boat or an open sloop and glide the UNESCO canal ring and the Amstel with a private skipper, a bar and no fixed route but your own. We arrange sunset apéritif cruises with champagne and canapés, harbour crossings to waterside restaurants by private tender, and full-day charters through the city’s seventeenth-century heart at the speed of a conversation.

Spring Only

Flower Fields & Keukenhof

For a few extraordinary weeks each spring, the Netherlands becomes a canvas — and we give you privileged access to it. In tulip season (late March to mid-May) we arrange private mornings at Keukenhof before the gates open, when the world’s most famous garden is silent and entirely yours, and unhurried drives through the ribboned bulb fields of the Bollenstreek with an expert guide. The signature experience rises above it all: a private helicopter flight low over the fields, where the tulips resolve into vast bands of colour no photograph has ever truly captured.

Icons of Holland

Windmills of Holland

The image the whole world knows, opened privately. We take you to the working windmills and green timber houses of Zaanse Schans in the early light before the coaches arrive, and to the UNESCO mill network of Kinderdijk, nineteen eighteenth-century mills turning above the polders. Climb inside a working mill with its keeper, understand the engineering that reclaimed a nation from the sea, and photograph the most Dutch of all scenes without a crowd in the frame.

Taste of the Country

Cheese Farms & Tasting

A private journey into the heart of Dutch cheese. At a working farm in the green polder country we walk the process from herd to wheel, then sit to a guided tasting — young to aged Gouda, farmhouse specialities and rare reserves — paired with local jenever and wines. Unhurried, generous and genuinely delicious, it is the Netherlands understood through its most beloved craft.

Living Craft

Clog-Making & Dutch Crafts

The wooden shoe is more than a souvenir — it is a living craft, and we bring you to the masters who still practise it. Watch a single block of poplar become a clog in minutes at a traditional workshop, try your own hand under a craftsman’s eye, and pair it with the country’s other enduring arts: Delftware painting, cheese-making and windmill milling. A hands-on, warmly human afternoon in the real working Holland.

Amsterdam’s Brilliance

The Diamond Tour

Amsterdam has cut the world’s greatest diamonds for four centuries, and we open that legacy privately. At one of the historic diamond houses a master cutter reveals the craft behind the brilliance — cleaving, polishing and grading — before a private viewing of exceptional stones and, should you wish, discreet acquisition with full expertise at your side. It is the story of the city’s glittering trade, told where it still happens.

History, With Gravity

The Red Light District — A Cultural History

The oldest quarter of Amsterdam is also its most misunderstood. Led by a serious guide, this is a discreet, respectful walk through De Wallen’s true history — its medieval streets, the Oude Kerk, the guilds and the centuries of trade and tolerance that shaped the city’s character — approached as cultural heritage rather than spectacle. Thoughtful, candid and genuinely illuminating.

The Village Without Roads

Giethoorn — Venice of the North

An hour and a half from the city lies a village with no roads at all, only glass-clear canals, arched wooden bridges and thatched farmhouses on their own private islands. We explore it by silent whisper-boat, glide beneath the bridges, and take a country lunch at the water’s edge. Serene, storybook and utterly unlike anywhere else in Europe — one of the quiet wonders of the Netherlands.

Local Amsterdam

The Jordaan & Hidden Neighbourhoods

The Amsterdam that Amsterdammers love. A private guide leads you through the Jordaan’s narrow lanes and flower-lined canals, into the secret hofjes — almshouse courtyards hidden behind plain doors — past independent galleries, ateliers and design boutiques, and into a classic brown café for a jenever among the locals. Add the Negen Straatjes and the quiet corners of the Grachtengordel, and you have the city as a resident’s confidence rather than a visitor’s checklist.

The Old Zuiderzee

Volendam & Marken — Fishing Villages

North of the city, the old fishing villages of the former Zuiderzee keep a Holland of another century. In Volendam, the harbour front with its wooden houses, traditional costume and eel smokehouses; across the water at Marken, a former island of green timber homes and a working lighthouse, reached by private boat or chauffeur. Unhurried, photogenic and warmly authentic — the seafaring soul of the Netherlands, privately explored.

Spring on Two Wheels

Cycling the Flower Fields

The most Dutch pleasure of all, at the most beautiful moment of the year. In tulip season we set you on fine bicycles for a private, gently paced ride through the Bollenstreek — mile upon mile of tulip, daffodil and hyacinth fields in full colour, with a guide, refreshment stops and a support vehicle always at hand. It is Holland experienced exactly as the Dutch would choose to: outdoors, on a bike, among the flowers.

Open Skies

Dutch Countryside & Farms

Half an hour from the canals, another Netherlands begins. We design slow, deliberate days through the polder landscape — country-house lunches under wide skies, artisan farms and estates, cycling or private chauffeur between them, and the fairy-tale castle of Muiderslot opened for a private visit. It is the Holland the guidebooks rush past, savoured at the pace it deserves.

Beyond the City

Beyond Amsterdam

The whole of the Randstad is within easy, elegant reach. We curate private day journeys to The Hague and the jewel-box Mauritshuis, home to Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring; the canals of Utrecht; the tulip-market charm of Haarlem; and the wide skies of the North Sea coast. Every excursion is chauffeured, privately guided and timed so the day unfolds without a single wasted moment — the Netherlands, edited to your taste.

The Extravangarde Difference

One Team. Complete Discretion.

A single accountable director from first enquiry to final farewell; a 24/7 concierge; discreet security and close protection where required; seamless logistics across city and countryside; and absolute confidentiality. We accept a limited number of commissions each season to protect the standard of every one.

Begin Your Amsterdam Commission

Tell us your ambition. We will design the rest.

Whether it is a wedding for forty, a congress for four thousand, or a single perfect day in the tulip fields — one message begins everything.
